Being a foster parent is hard enough when you’re taking care of one child, imagine taking care of three or even six! These foster parents are putting in the hard work and keeping entire groups of siblings together by opening their hearts and welcoming them all into their lives and homes.

Jessica Benzakein:

Having experienced the hardships of the foster care system herself, this foster mom grew up to become the reason why a group of six brothers were able to stay together. Will (17), Carter (14), Sidney (13), Buddy (8), Kendrick (6), and T.J. (4) together with Jessica’s biological children are now all part of the Benzakein family. “Everybody tells me how lucky these kids are and what a good thing I did. But… they grounded me. I went through my 20s thinking I didn’t really need a family. But I did. They give me purpose.”

Lamont Thomas:

After fostering more than 30 children in a span of 20 years, this single father has decided to come out of retirement to give a second chance to a group of five siblings in need of a home. In a surprising turn of events, Thomas had once fostered the group of siblings’ father, and when he heard the children were put in the system due to neglect, he simply couldn’t turn them away. “They bring new energy to me. They’re lovable kids, very affectionate,” Lamont said.” “They deserve to be raised as siblings, and that was my fight.”
